SAES gas purifiers: Entegris GPU and HGU selection boundaries.
Start with the carrier gas, impurity load and operating conditions. Then confirm the exact model, capacity basis, installation requirements and supply scope.

Use the SAES name to trace documents, not to guess a replacement.
The Entegris acquired-brand FAQ records completion of the SAES Pure Gas acquisition on June 25, 2018.[1] This establishes the brand relationship. It does not prove that every GateKeeper product is a renamed legacy SAES model. For an existing installation, provide the complete part number, serial number, nameplate and controlled manual before requesting a current replacement mapping.
The current Entegris catalogue provides separate GateKeeper GPU and HGU product families.[2,5] Gas purification addresses specified molecular impurities; particle filtration is a different function. A particle-filter rating cannot establish a molecular-impurity removal specification. Define the carrier gas and the contaminants of concern before choosing a media or system route.

Three document routes with different boundaries.
| Route | Official disclosure | Selection consequence | Do not extrapolate |
|---|---|---|---|
| GateKeeper GPU AP | The AP sheet lists AsH3 and PH3, ambient-temperature operation without operating heat/power, and non-regenerable media.[3, pp. 1–2] | Confirm the listed gas and impurity requirements against the exact configuration. | AP gas, capacity and maintenance conditions do not apply to EX or other GPU media. |
| GateKeeper GPU EX | The sheet lists H2, N2, Ar, He, Ne, Kr, Xe and specified H2 mixtures; ambient operation and regenerability.[4, pp. 1–2] | Carrier gas, mixture ratio and inlet impurities determine which table applies. | Hydrogen as carrier gas is distinct from hydrogen as an impurity being removed. |
| GateKeeper HGU | Heated-getter POU systems with separate Ar/He/Xe/N2/H2 and PS2/PS3/PS4 model information.[6, pp. 1–4] | Review the exact model, gas, impurities, heat/control needs and installation requirements together. | A purity, flow or life-status feature of one model is not a family-wide specification. |
One-year lifetime is a conditional reference point.
AP uses an inlet-water concentration of 0.5 ppm and specified one-year flow rates. EX uses 1 ppm inlet water plus 1 ppm oxygen and its specified flows.[3–4, pp. 2–3] The maximum-flow and one-year-flow columns serve different purposes. Do not combine them into a new operating point or turn the reference into a guaranteed field replacement interval.
For a useful capacity assessment, record average and peak flow, operating hours, inlet impurity baseline and excursions, and the required outlet target. Both GPU sheets also distinguish purifier-only and configured-with-options pressure limits; pressure-drop statements have defined inlet-pressure and filtration conditions.[3–4, p. 3] Confirm valves, bypass, filters and connections before comparing pressure or pressure drop.
AP is explicitly listed as non-regenerable. EX is listed as regenerable and its current ordering section identifies the regeneration contact route.[3, p. 2; 4, pp. 2, 7] Regenerability does not establish a local service provider, turnaround time or Zhongfu regeneration qualification. Define spare capacity, return arrangements, handling and the outage window in the project scope.
Review HGU by model and gas, including heat and maintenance.
The HGU datasheet provides different PS2, PS3 and PS4 tables. It does not justify one universal purity or flow statement across the range. PS2 GC50 is positioned for low-flow GC/analytical use; PS3 has replaceable-getter-cartridge information. The PS4-MT3/MT15 life-status sensor is specifically noted for rare-gas/nitrogen configurations, rather than every hydrogen configuration.[6, pp. 1–3]
Keep nitrogen as a carrier separate from nitrogen as a contaminant. Keep typical flow separate from maximum flow and the main unit separate from optional equipment. Obtain the current model/serial-specific manual for power, mounting direction, clearance, ventilation, support and controls. Startup purge, heating, shutdown, replacement and disposal must use the applicable controlled instructions and site EHS plan; this overview does not invent operating sequences, temperatures or purge rates.

| Input | What it helps establish |
|---|---|
| Complete part number, nameplate, serial number, photos and manual revision | Exact media, configuration and replacement boundary. |
| Carrier/mixture, SDS, inlet impurities and outlet targets | Applicable gas and impurity-removal tables. |
| Average/peak flow, duty cycle, pressure and allowed pressure drop | Capacity/lifetime basis and configured operating limits. |
| Connections, direction, clearance, power and outage window | Installation, heat/control and maintenance arrangements. |
| Quantity, destination, documents and service responsibilities | Written supply, authorization, delivery and acceptance scope. |
Buyers searching for a SAES agent or distributor should check the legal quotation/contract entity, supply channel, territory, product scope and validity of supporting authorization documents. Brand ownership and image-use permission do not establish sales authorization. Zhongfu coordinates official-document review, model questions and project procurement enquiries. Supply, applicable authorization, price, lead time, installation and maintenance are confirmed separately in writing.
For legacy records, the existing GPU family and HGU family pages remain product indexes. The Chinese sourcing guide explains how to compare lifetime conditions and service scope.

This is a document-based screening guide, not a field operating procedure or a compatibility commitment. Exact model, current controlled documents, SDS, equipment instructions, site EHS requirements and written confirmation govern the project. Stock, performance equivalence, official service status and automatic system compatibility are not inferred from a family overview.
