Gas application / exact-gas route

Specialty gas filtration and purification.

Particle filtration and molecular impurity removal are different functions. Both require written confirmation for the exact gas, concentration and operating envelope.

Define the exact tool or gas-system position

Identify the gas source, gas cabinet or panel, valve manifold, line, tool subsystem and point of use. Provide the existing BOM or full current model for a replacement review.

Particle-filter routes

Generic options include all-fluoropolymer gas cartridges, compact stainless membrane filters, sintered-metal filters, porous-alumina filters, top-mount filters and compact gasket filters for component protection. Compatibility is never inferred from material alone.

Gas-purifier routes

For impurity removal, define the exact gas composition, every inlet impurity and concentration or total load, target outlet, normal and peak flow, pressure and operating mode. A published family label is not a guarantee for a different gas or impurity duty.

Safety and product boundary

Reactive, oxidising, corrosive, toxic, flammable and pyrophoric gases require current manufacturer documentation for the exact gas and concentration, written operating limits, export and end-use review, and the customer's formal gas-system safety approval.

Vent diffusers and porous-metal flow restrictors are separate gas-path components. A diffuser is not automatically a filter; a flow restrictor is not a safety shutoff system.

Technical screening inputs

  • Exact gas, grade, composition and concentration.
  • Particle target or each molecular impurity target.
  • Normal, maximum and transient flow.
  • Inlet pressure, allowable pressure drop and temperature.
  • Connection, line size, orientation and available envelope.
  • Current model, datasheet revision, required documents and acceptance method.
